Stay: A weekend at Patonga

As the days grow longer and warmer, we’re looking forward to the Christmas holidays and making memories with our families and friends under the Australian sun.

Located a 15 minute ferry trip from Palm Beach in Sydney or a 1.5 hour drive from Sydney CBD, The Boathouse Hotel Patonga offers a quintessentially Australian holiday. The quiet, seaside location is known to locals for its charm and is an idyllic getaway for a weekend or a longer stay.

The ferry is the best way to visit Patonga, and allows you to take in the beautiful views of Pittwater, Barrenjoey Headland and the Central Coast. Once you have arrived at Patonga, it’s time to take a breath and relax into the calm village lifestyle that the locals love. The three apartments include a living space, kitchenette or kitchen, books, games, television, WiFi and a private balcony to take in the views of Patonga Bay with a cocktail or a cup of tea.

For dining while you stay at Patonga, the Hotel downstairs is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner Wednesday to Sunday, and for breakfast and lunch Monday and Tuesday. You can view the menus on our website here.

For the little ones, ask our team for our colouring in kits to keep them entertained while you eat and drink. If the kids need to burn off some energy, head across to the great new children’s park located on the beach.

If it is warm enough for a day at the beach, Patonga Bay is directly across the road from The Boathouse, and has calm waters ideal for swimming. For surfers, Pearl Beach and Umina Beach are located a 5 to 10 minute drive North of The Boathouse.

Patonga Creek is located a short walk from The Boathouse, and is idyllic for fishing and kayaking, and is a quiet swimming spot.

Patonga is known for its walking tracks, with beautiful views of the Hawkesbury River stretching North to the Central Coast and back towards Palm Beach. For more details about different walking tracks and how to get there, you can read our local guide provided in your apartment or ask our team.

Staying on a Thursday night? Enjoy happy hour from 5pm until 7pm with 20% off drinks, as well as trivia from 7pm until 9pm. Every Sunday there is live music from 11.30am until 2.30pm, the perfect way to spend the last few hours of your weekend.
