The Fine Print
CAPACITY
The Cove Manly Pavilion has capacity for up to 240 guests for a seated event with no space for dancing, or up to 200 guests for a seated event with space for dancing and up to 300 guests cocktail style, in our dedicated events space, The Cove located on the lower level.
EXTENSIONS
There 8 hours is the maximum time frame which you may hire The Cove Manly Pavilion for an event, and 7 hours is the maximum for alcohol service.
For Weddings, any extension involves a Venue Hire Fee per hour + a per person cost for your unlimited chosen Beverage Package and will be subject to availability on the particular date.
For Events, any extension is subject to an increased tailored quote and will be subject to availability on the particular date.
All weddings or events have a conclusion time of 11.00pm, except for Sundays which must conclude by 10.00pm. Please note public holiday times vary.
EVENT DAYS
Events are available any day of the week Monday through to Sunday. Please enquire with our team for minimum spends applicable on Public Holiday dates.

MANDATORY FEES
For any wedding or event held at Manly Pavilion, a mandatory minimum spend requirement and potential hire fee does apply.
DEPOSIT, PAYMENT TERMS, SECURITY + AGREEMENT FORM
To confirm your booking, we require an initial security deposit (credited towards the final account). The deposit is required within 7 days of receiving your confirmation, once paid this reflects your recognition + agreement with the Terms + Conditions outlined in this package. Once you have confirmed your booking, we also require a signed + completed copy of the Security + Agreement Form - this is to be returned within 7 days. The Boathouse Shelly Beach holds the right to cancel any bookings not held with a Deposit payment + completed Security + Agreement Form.
50% of the minimum spend is due 60 days before your Wedding or Event (credited towards the final account). Full payment is due 21 days prior to the Wedding or Event date, no later. Payment by cash, direct debit or bank cheque incurs no surcharge. We accept Amex, Visa and Mastercard. Please note you will be charged up to 1.54% for Visa and Mastercard and 2.2% for Amex.
FINAL NUMBERS + MENU SELECTION
The guaranteed number of guests attending is required at least 21 days prior to the wedding or event, for catering + teaming needs. Once final numbers are provided, this will be taken as confirmed. The final invoice will be issued to you 21 days prior to your wedding or event.
Catering will be provided for this number + this will be the minimum charged irrespective of last-minute cancellations. Guest cancellations cannot be credited towards other elements of your wedding or event including additional styling.
All final food + beverage selections are also required at least 28 days prior. All food is subject to seasonal change; however, notification will be given for this.
ADDITIONAL (SUPPLIER) MEALS
Meals for entertainers, photographers and videographers must be supplied at $70.00 per person. This will include a main sit down meal in their break and drinks throughout. It does not include canapés.
UNDER 18’S MEALS
The charge for guests under 18 years of age including food and drinks is $90.00 per person. For kids under 10 years of age requiring kids
meals and drinks, the cost is $25.00 per person. For little ones requiring no food or beverages there is no charge.
ALCOHOL + DECORUM
Our venues are fully licensed venue. It is your responsibility to ensure the orderly conduct of your guests. All beverages are subject to seasonal change; however, notification will be given for this. Please discuss with the team for further options and upgrades available.
BUMP IN + BUMP OUT
Access for set up is 1 - 2 hours prior to your event unless stated otherwise by your Event Manager. Bump out is to be completed after any Wedding or Event. Any items left The Boathouse Group takes no responsibility of any loss or damage. Please see the access time listed on your contract (Security + Agreement Form).
DECOR + STYLING
All major furniture items, fixtures and fittings must remain as styled and positioned by Manly Pavilion. Manly Pavilion team are only too happy to offer complimentary placement of your bonbonnieres and place cards. Anything additional must be discussed and approved by the Event Manager prior to your event. Manly Pavilion offer an additional styling service to suit your Wedding or Event. Please contact us for further details.
DECORATIONS
Nothing is to be nailed, screwed, blue-tacked or adhered in any way to any wall, door or other part of Manly Pavilion. If any items are attached to our walls or common areas fees apply for any damage occurred. All decorations must be approved by the Event Manager prior to the Event.
HANGING ITEMS FROM THE CEILING
You are welcome to hang items from the existing hooks on the ceiling at Manly Pavilion. We can hang the items / goods for you at an additional cost, please ask us for a quote. Alternatively, if you decide to hang the goods yourself, Manly Pavilion is not liable for any falls or injuries that might occur to any person or damage of any items / goods. All hanging items must be approved by the Event Manager prior.
EQUIPMENT HIRE
Manly Pavilion has established relationships with professional hire companies + has recommended suppliers to meet all your equipment needs + services. Please contact us for further information on our recommendations.
EXTERNAL CONTRACTORS
All external contractors + hire must be advised to Manly Pavilion 14 days prior to your Wedding or Event and are subject to approval by management. Manly Pavilion can apply limits or time restrictions on the contractors.
ENTERTAINMENT / MUSIC
Your Event Manager can provide suggestions for your entertainment and music. All equipment must be supplied by your DJ or band, as Manly Pavilion does not provide this. Whilst we understand that you are wanting music at your wedding or event, Manly Pavilion reserves the right to monitor the sound levels as needed, in accordance with NSW Legislation and “Protection of the Environment Operations (Noise Control) Regulations 2017”. Due to the space and Northern Beaches Residential Time-of-day Noise Restrictions, no subwoofers are to be used in or outside the venue at any time and all music must cease at 11pm, and 10pm on Sundays.
PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE
Manly Pavilion does hold Public Liability Insurance however all external suppliers will be required to have their own Public Liability Insurance. Manly Pavilion Public Liability Insurance is very specific to our venue + fit out. No harm or damage to guests caused by any external supplier equipment, styling decor, furniture or goods are covered by Manly Pavilion.
DUE CARE
Whilst our team will take care, no responsibility will be taken for damage or loss of goods, equipment or merchandise left on the premises prior to, during or after the event. The following items are not permitted at your event: wax candles (that are not in a glass vase), confetti, rice, streamer poppers, flower petals, or sequin-type scatters e.g. stars, hearts.
MENU OR WINE TASTING
The Boathouse Group currently we do not offer the option of menu tastings. We do offer the option of a base package wine tasting once you have booked closer to your date.
DIETARY REQUIREMENTS
The Boathouse Group are happy to accommodate dietary requirements. Information on dietary requirements are to be provided to the team 28 days prior, any dietary requirements we are made aware of within 28 days or on the day we will try our upmost to accommodate however this cannot be guaranteed.
We are unable to guarantee that we will be able to accommodate all dietary requirements/special meal requirements as this will be subject to menu selections and requirements. If dietary requirements are not advised prior to the event date, we cannot guarantee they will be accommodated on the day.
If more than 20% of guests have the same dietary requirement this may result in a selected menu item being replaced for all guests For any cultural requirements please check with your Event Manager.
FOOD ALLERGIES
Please advise details of guests with food allergies when confirming final numbers. Whilst the chefs + kitchen teams will do their utmost to ensure the said allergen is not in the meals prepared, we cannot guarantee it as our kitchen does use a wide variety of ingredients on a daily basis.
PRICES
The Boathouse Group makes every effort to maintain prices, however they may be subject to alteration prior to your wedding or event due to food, beverage and general price increases. However, we will guarantee that the contracted base price per person for food, and beverage will remain, as per the signed contract. Though, any upgrades (food or beverage) to this base price are subject to price increases, this also applies to styling/floral upgrades as we cannot guarantee or honour previous pricing for this. All prices are inclusive of GST.
SMOKING
In accordance with the NSW Health and Hygiene laws, smoking is prohibited within Manly Pavilion and surrounding areas. Guests will be directed to a designated smoking area outside.
GRATUITY
Gratuities are discretional + are appreciated by The Boathouse Group team.
INDEMNITY
The Boathouse Group guarantees the use of the freshest ingredients + ensures that food is prepared under the most hygienic conditions. However, no liability is taken by The Boathouse Shelly Beach for any latent defect in any product used.
PARKING
Guest parking is available on the surrounding streets, metered parking is available on the beachfront and there are several paid car parks located nearby.
SURPRISES
Manly Pavilion cannot be held responsible for the outcome of any surprises to be held and organised prior to, on or after your Wedding or Event day that can has been organised by the bride, groom, couple, party host, friend or family member known to the hosts.
FIREWORKS
Manly Pavilion does not allow fireworks within its venue or around the surrounding areas. Without the knowledge of fireworks Manly Pavilion will charge $2,000 fee for breach of this. Fireworks organised without maritime + council knowledge will hold a much heavier penalties.
FLOWERS + GREENERY
The Boathouse Group includes a number of greenery displays and plants. These flowers, plants or greenery are a display only + cannot be taken home at the end of your wedding or event.
EARLY ARRIVAL OF GUESTS
The Boathouse Group weddings + events begin strictly at the organised time on your run sheet. For any guests arriving early + before this time, a surcharge will be charged to your credit card. The fee for this is $500.00 + $15.00 per person for every half hour that guests turn up early at The Boathouse.
LATE DEPARTURE OF GUESTS
The Boathouse Group weddings + events conclude strictly at the organised time on your run sheet. For any guests that depart after this time, a surcharge will be charged to your credit card. The fee for this is $500.00 + $15.00 per person for every half hour that guests
SECURITY
Organisers/Hosts are financially liable for any damage sustained, or loss incurred to The Boathouse Group property, fixtures or fittings, through their own actions, those of their guests, sub-contractors + contractors. Credit Card details are required at the time of your booking to cover any damages that may occur. The Security + Agreement Form will be supplied to you on the day of your booking to fill out + return to the Event Manager within 7 days. Credit Card details are the only form of security accepted.
SECURITY FEE
A compulsory Security Fee will be applied to your final bill, to assist with the privacy of the space – the fee will be based on your final guest numbers and event timings.
CLEANING FEE
A cleaning fee will be charged at the discretion of management should our venue be left in an unacceptable state.
CANCELLATION POLICY
All payments made are non-refundable. All cancellations or change of date made incur a loss of full deposit + any further payments made. No credits will be given for change of date or for the general café trade. Any cancellation made 60 days or less prior to your wedding or event, will incur a loss of 50% of the minimum spend. All cancellations made within 14 days of your wedding or event will incur a loss of all monies due as stated on your invoice. Cancellations must be confirmed to Manly Pavilion/The Boathouse Group in writing.
MINIMUM SPEND
If the agreed minimum spend is not met, the shortfall will be applied as a venue hire fee. No credit, refund, or alternative allocation (including, but not limited to, a bar tab) will be offered. In the event that a pre-paid bar tab is not fully used on the night, the unused balance will also be applied as a venue hire fee and will not be refunded or credited. The minimum spend requirement is redeemable on food + beverage only.
