Welcome to The Boathouse Shelly Beach in Manly, Sydney - a café, bar and events venue set on the only West facing beach on the East Coast of Australia. Soak up the views whilst enjoying a wonderful meal in one of the most iconic waterside locations in Sydney.
Open from 7am daily. No reservations required, walk straight in off the beach.
Celebrate your wedding, party or corporate event with us in our dedicated event space on the upper level at The Boathouse Shelly Beach. We offer a variety of events including seated and canapé style.
Weddings + Engagements
The Boathouse is suitable for both sit down + canapé style weddings on the upper level of the venue. We love all things weddings, and our team look forward to working with you to create a memorable and special event.
Corporate events
The Boathouse Shelly Beach offers a private space for any style of conference, corporate meeting or workshop. Located on the upper level, the unique space includes a covered balcony area that overlooks Shelly Beach + Manly. We offer full day or half day packages, complete with food, beverages + stationary.
Private functions
We host a variety of private parties and functions from baby showers, hen's parties, birthdays, bar mitzvahs, engagements and more. Choose from group bookings with set menus, or semi exclusive functions on the upper level.

Reservations
We don’t take reservations at Shelly Beach. You’re welcome to walk in and find a table anytime that suits you. For larger groups of 10 or more, we recommend giving us a call to discuss options with our team. Please note that during select months of the year, when we open for evening service, reservations are available.

No, we aren't open for evening trade.
Wheelchair accessibility
An accessible ramp is located on the side of the building, and our team is always happy to assist with entry and exit as needed. A lift is also available from the main café level to the upper events space. There are two designated accessible parking spaces at the bottom of the driveway, with step-free access to the café.
Accessible bathrooms are available.

Dietary requirements, including halal options
Our chefs are happy to accommodate a wide range of dietary needs where possible - just let our team know when ordering.
All meat served is halal certified, except pork. Please note that while the meat itself is certified, our preparation methods are not halal.

You’re very welcome to bring a cake, with no cakeage fee.
Bringing your four-legged friends
Well-behaved dogs are welcome at our outdoor footpath tables and under the pergola to the right of the venue. Dogs aren’t permitted inside.
Set menus & shared dining
We don’t offer set menus at Shelly Beach, you are welcome to order from our à la carte menu.
Parking information
A local council car park is available nearby. Spaces are limited and paid parking applies.
